About The Director

Tim Kozma

Quo Vadis Tours and Holidays founder and director, Tim Kozma believes that he developed a passion for travel when as a young boy, his parents took he and his siblings on a three-month “European Vacation”-style world trip of Europe and North America way back in 1976. Two months travelling in a 1972 yellow VW Combi van and one month in Transylvania during a -30C winter definitely the highlights!

Many years later after working as an engineer for nigh on ten years, a long-term passion for snow-skiing led Tim to take a break in 1999 and begin a “4 month sabbatical” teaching skiing in the Austrian alps. That “short sabbatical” in fact turned into eight winters working in the beautiful Tyrolean mountains.

In 2001, completing a grueling seven week training trip, Tim commenced working for Contiki Holidays as one of their European Tour Managers. His “just one season” on the road as a Tour Manager ended up becoming four full summer seasons leading tours through most of Western Europe as well as regional specialty tours in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Scandinavia, Russia and Central and Eastern Europe.

In 2005 Tim was selected to join the ranks of Tour Directors working for the award-winning and high-end tour operator Insight Vacations, part of the Travel Corporation, the largest tour operator in the world.

Successfully completing a myriad of tours that included most of Western Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, and Central Europe, at the end of his 2008 season Tim decided it was finally time to return home to his engineering career.

After two years back in Australia it was time to venture back to his true passion, leading groups through Europe. This time however it was time to do it on his own and design tours that were more “user-friendly” for the guests.

Having lead over 60 different tours around Europe varying from 7 up to 37 days, with well over 2000 guests, Tim was very aware of the main short-comings of many tour itineraries from the feedback provided from all his guests.

He decided it was time to design tours that would tackle the main issues most people had with typical multi-country European tours: Shorten the drives, lengthen the stays, give more free time, include more items, make the starts later, reduce the amount of time spent on the coach and most importantly, reduce the size of the groups!

Whether it be our “Arctic Circle and Auroras” Northern Lights Tour,  our “Splendours of Sth America” Tour of South America ,a Cruise and Tour of Croatia on our “Dalmatian Rhapsody”, or a Tour of Russia and the region on our “Russia, Baltics and Poland” trip, allow Tim and Quo Vadis Tours and Holidays to offer you a unique type of touring experience for those of you who are looking for a small-group trip that feels more like a holiday rather than a tour!
