Picture yourself beneath canopies of fiery red and golden maple leaves, the crisp autumn air alive with the scent of roasted chestnuts and temple incense.
Join us on the “bucket-list” trip of a lifetime as we take in some of the most famous and iconic sights of Japan on our ultimate trip around Japan’s island of Honshu in autumn 2026!
Begin in Tokyo, where tradition meets innovation—wander vibrant neighborhoods, visit the world-famous fish market, and sample some of the freshest seafood on Earth.
Take in views of Mount Fuji framed by autumn colours as we stay in lakeside Fujikawaguchiko. We travel to the mountains of Matsumoto and Takayama to enjoy a few days of rural Japan and its traditional architecture.
Stroll the beautifully landscaped gardens and preserved samurai and geisha districts of Kanazawa, and spend four nights and unforgettable days in Kyoto—exploring ancient temples, historic tea houses, and golden-leaf-lined pathways. We include a day-trip to ancient Nara to meet the charming, free-roaming deer that politely bow to visitors for treats and its grand Buddha. Visit the sacred island of Miyajima to see the iconic floating torii gate, and reflect on history at the Peace Memorial in Hiroshima.
We end our journey in Osaka—famous for its friendly spirit, dazzling nightscapes, and street food scene that celebrates Japan’s boldest flavours.
Throughout the tour, enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine, from warm autumn specialties to local street eats, and stay in hand-picked hotels that blend comfort, culture, and location. We take overland coaches and ride the Shinkansen bullet trains, join a traditional tea ceremony by tranquil gardens and immerse yourself in the rich traditions and natural beauty of Japan in its most vibrant season.
